Comparison

Grok Bot vs Claude (Cowork and Claude Code): an honest comparison

Last checked

Both let you hand off real multi-step work that keeps running in the cloud after you close your laptop. The main difference is the shape: Grok Bot gives you a team of named, long-lived Bots that share one cloud computer and message each other, while Claude Cowork is task-based and built into the Claude app you may already chat in. On price, Claude Cowork starts with Claude Pro ($20 a month), and Grok Bot starts with X Subscription Premium ($30 a month) or a paid Cursor plan.

Pricing side by side (checked October 25, 2026)

Grok Bot comes with:

  • The X Subscription: Premium $30/mo, Super $100/mo or Ultra $200/mo. Plus ($8) doesn’t include it.
  • Legacy Cursor Pro, Pro+, Ultra or Teams, or a linked SuperGrok or X Premium+ subscription.
  • A free trial (a usage credit with a 7-day window). See our Grok Bot pricing guide.

Claude Cowork comes with:

  • Claude Pro at $20/mo ($17/mo billed annually), Max from $100/mo (5x or 20x Pro’s usage), and Team and Enterprise plans.
  • It’s on paid plans only. Anthropic notes agent tasks use more of your limit than chat.

Claude Code is included on all paid Claude plans and shares the same usage limits.

Who should pick which

Pick Grok Bot if you want:

  • Several long-lived “teammates” with their own jobs and memory, such as a chief of staff, an inbox Bot and a research Bot, that hand work to each other.
  • One always-on computer where logins and files carry over between Bots.
  • To start work by tagging @bot on X, or to give Bots their own email address.
  • A coding setup that ties into Cursor, or you already pay for Cursor or SuperGrok.

Pick Claude Cowork if you want:

  • Task-by-task handoffs inside the Claude app you already use for chat.
  • Work on files on your own computer through the Claude desktop app.
  • The cheapest way in ($20/mo Pro), and you’re happy with task-based scheduling.

Pick Claude Code if your work is mostly software, in the terminal or your editor.

Can you use both?

Yes. They’re separate subscriptions, so you’d pay for each. Some Grok Bot creators even build Bots that drive Claude Code from the Bot’s terminal. See the templates below. You’ll need your own Anthropic account for that.

What we don’t claim

We haven’t run head-to-head tests, so this page has no speed, quality or “which model is smarter” claims. If you see a benchmark elsewhere, check who ran it and when. Both products update weekly.

  • Claude Code: a dedicated coding Bot that runs software work through the Claude Code CLI.
  • Claudey: runs Claude Code for frontend, UI and architecture work.
  • Terminal Boss: runs Grok Build, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor CLI and other terminal agents from one Bot.
  • Chief of Staff: the coordinator Bot that shows off Grok Bot’s multi-bot style.

FAQ

Is Grok Bot better than Claude?

It depends on the job. Grok Bot is built around a team of long-lived Bots on a shared cloud computer. Claude Cowork is built around handing tasks to Claude in the app you chat in. We don’t publish benchmark claims.

Which is cheaper?

Claude Pro (with Cowork) is $20 a month. The cheapest new plan with Grok Bot is X Subscription Premium at $30 a month, though paid Cursor plans and linked SuperGrok also include it.

Is Grok Bot an alternative to Claude Code?

Partly. Grok Bot can do coding work and start Cursor Cloud Agents, but Claude Code is a dedicated coding tool. Many people use a coding tool alongside Grok Bot.

Do both keep working when my computer is off?

Yes. Grok Bot runs on a cloud computer, and Claude Cowork cloud sessions run on Anthropic’s servers. Claude tasks that use your local files or browser need the desktop app open.
