Grok Bot doesn’t have its own subscription. It’s included with The X Subscription’s Premium plan ($30 a month) and up, and also with paid Cursor plans, linked SuperGrok plans and some Grok Business seats. The cheapest new plan that includes it is Premium. Plus ($8) and Free don’t include Grok Bot.
Prices checked on October 25, 2026, from x.ai/pricing and xAI’s pricing docs. US list prices, before tax. xAI says prices can change, so check the official page before you buy.
The X Subscription plans (for new customers)
xAI says new self-serve customers choose from these plans:
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Included usage | Grok Bot? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | Limited | No |
| Plus | $8/mo | $80/yr (about $7/mo) | Base | No |
| Premium | $30/mo | $300/yr (about $25/mo) | 4x Plus | Yes |
| Super | $100/mo | $1,000/yr (about $84/mo) | 15x Plus | Yes |
| Ultra | $200/mo | $2,000/yr (about $167/mo) | 50x Plus | Yes |
Team seats are $30 (Premium), $100 (Super) or $200 (Ultra) per seat. Each seat gets the same usage as the matching individual plan, and you can mix seat tiers on one team. Plus isn’t available for teams.
How Grok Bot usage works
- One shared weekly pool. On The X Subscription, Grok Bot draws from the same weekly pool as Grok (Chat, Imagine, Voice) and Cursor. It isn’t a separate Grok Bot allowance.
- It refreshes weekly. xAI’s line is that “one heavy day never wipes out your whole month.”
- Different work costs different amounts. Usage rates vary by product, and big agent jobs use more than quick ones.
- When you run out, you can wait for the reset or keep going with prepaid top-ups. Spending caps can limit that extra spend.
- Third-party models in Cursor aren’t part of the pool and are billed separately.
- Check usage at grok.com/dashboard under Usage.
Already have Cursor, SuperGrok or X Premium+?
You don’t have to switch. xAI says existing Cursor, SuperGrok and X Premium plans continue unless you change them. Here’s how Grok Bot access works on those (per Cursor’s Plans and billing page):
| You have | Grok Bot access | Usage level |
|---|---|---|
| Cursor Pro / Pro+ / Ultra | Included, sign in with the same account | Pro < Pro+ < Ultra |
| Cursor Teams (self-serve) | Included for every member | Follows the Teams allowance |
| SuperGrok / SuperGrok Plus / SuperGrok Heavy | Link your Grok account from the Grok Bot plan screen | SuperGrok < Plus < Heavy |
| X Premium+ | Link your Grok account | Below SuperGrok Plus |
| Self-serve Grok Business seat | Sign in with Grok using that account | Matches the seat’s license |
| SuperGrok Lite | Not included | — |
| Cursor or Grok Enterprise | Ask your account team | Set by your admin |
Two things trip people up:
- Plans don’t stack. A Cursor plan and a SuperGrok link don’t add together. Grok Bot uses whichever one gives more weekly usage. Cursor says Pro, SuperGrok and X Premium+ are the same tier, Pro+ matches SuperGrok Plus, and Ultra matches SuperGrok Heavy.
- A SuperGrok link is permanent. You can’t unlink it or move it to another Cursor account, so sign in with the right Cursor account first.
Is Grok Bot free? What about the free trial?
Grok Bot isn’t free to keep using, but there is a free trial. Per Cursor’s help:
- The trial is a usage credit, not a set number of days, though a 7-day window also applies.
- It’s used up by how much work your Bots do (agent steps and tokens), not by how many messages you send. One big job can use most of it.
- It never turns into a paid plan, and used credit isn’t topped back up.
- Cancel Trial ends it right away and removes any leftover credit.
An App Store trial started in the iOS app is different. Apple runs it, and it does turn into a paid subscription unless you cancel in your Apple ID settings.
Which plan should you pick?
xAI’s own advice: Premium for new AI users, Super for daily agent users, Ultra for power users. Our take, in plain terms:
- Trying Grok Bot for the first time: use the free trial, then Premium ($30). Start with one or two Bots and watch your weekly usage.
- Running several Bots with daily routines: Super ($100) gives you 15x Plus usage instead of 4x.
- Running a whole team of Bots all day: Ultra ($200), at 50x Plus.
- Already paying for Cursor Pro or SuperGrok: you already have Grok Bot access. Try it before upgrading anything.
- A team: Premium seats for most people, with a Super seat for whoever runs the heaviest Bots.
Whatever you choose, lean Bots get more done per week. Smaller memory, fewer routine runs and drafting before acting all help.
Refunds
Grok Bot has no separate refund path because it isn’t a separate subscription. Refunds follow your plan’s rules (xAI’s for The X Subscription, Cursor’s for legacy Cursor plans, Apple’s or Google’s for in-app purchases). Usage and prepaid credit you’ve already spent isn’t refundable.
